You don’t need a referral to visit us

At NQ Surgical Dentistry we offer a very wide range of surgical and non-surgical therapy and we do not require a referral. Our practice covers the removal of teeth (including wisdom teeth), the placement of dental implants and their restoration, assessment and treatment of Temporomandibular Joint (TMJ) problems, the treatment of gum disease with in-house dental hygienist services available both for general dental hygiene care and for the treatment of more advanced gum disease. We offer treatment under local anaesthetic, intravenous sedation and general anaesthetic for both day cases and inpatients.

When you visit our friendly, inviting practice, our empathetic team will happily walk you through, and explain clearly the treatment you need and everything involved.

Everyone’s situation is different. Often there are a number of treatment options, all of which will correct a patients problem and it is important that all options are discussed with patients before arriving at a decision on which specific treatment is the most suitable for an individual patient. We only provide you with the best treatment for your situation.

Referrals not necessary

Because we don’t require a referral you can contact us directly for all your surgical dentistry, implant dentistry and gum disease treatment needs including dental hygiene therapy. We also look after patients with dental anxiety. Intravenous sedation is used for the treatment of anxious patients frequently, hence we have two highly skilled registered nurses on our team, one of whom is an intensive care nurse and the other a specialist anaesthetic nurse. As an accredited sedationist, Dr Priestland only provides treatment according to all the rules and regulations that govern this aspect of medical care. Dr Priestland also provides dental treatment under general anaesthetic for young children with a consultant specialist anaesthetist at the Mater Hospital.
